In Spanish you might see it written as one word (<em>Cuatroci\u00e9negas<\/em>) or two (<em>Cuatro Ci\u00e9negas<\/em>).\u00a0 <br><br>It&#8217;s an interesting area. <em>Cuatro Ci\u00e9negas<\/em> means &#8220;Four Marshes&#8221;.   In current scientific terminology, a <em>cienega<\/em> is a special kind of marsh which exists only in Mexico and the Southwest U.S. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Cuatro Cienegas area has 150 endemic species of plants and animals, including 3 endemic turtles and 8 endemic fish. <br><br>In the city you can visit the house of famous son Venustiano Carranza, considered   the Father of the Mexican Constitution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Outside the city there are natural pools, including the <em>Poza Azul<\/em> (the blue pool) and the La <em>Poza de la Becerr<\/em>a (Pool of the Calf).
