Mexico\u2019s deployment of National Guard troops to the border and acceptance of deportation flights is a positive step, but there is still much work to be done to stop the flow of drugs and illegal immigrants into our country. Our partnership will help make America and the Central American region safe again.”<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Here’s what President Sheinbaum tweeted about the meeting [my translation]: “In the Palacio Nacional <\/em><\/strong>[building at the top of this page] we received the Secretary of National Security of the United States, Kristi Noem, with whom we had a profitable meeting in the benefit of Mexico and the United States. Our countries maintain a good relation in the framework of respect of our sovereignties.”<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Note that Sheinbaum called Noem’s position “Secretary of National Security”, which I guess is a fair characterization of her job.<\/p>\n\n\n\n On Sheinbaum’s Twitter X feed there were some comments about the noticeable height difference between the two women.
