Source:  <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sinaloa#\/media\/File:Sinaloa_in_Mexico_(location_map_scheme).svg\">TUBS<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The intra-cartel war pits one faction,\u00a0<em>La Mayiza<\/em>, led by the son of \u201cEl Mayo\u201d Zambada, against the\u00a0<em>Chapitos<\/em>, sons of \u201cEl Chapo\u201d Guzman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.noroeste.com.mx\/seguridad\/informe-diario-cero-homicidios-y-3-vehiculos-robados-el-sabado-BP15294234\">the <em>Noroeste<\/em> newspaper report of August 17th, 2025<\/a>, the murder toll in Sinaloa state since the intra-cartel war began is 1,873.
