In calendar year 2025 there are several Mexican historical anniversaries of note. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of course is the 700th anniversary of the city, founded as Tenochtitlan by the Aztecs in 1325. [See Mexico City\u2019s 700th Anniversary<\/a> and President Sheinbaum Commemorates the 700th Anniversary of Mexico City<\/a> ]. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another is the 100th anniversary of the Mexican Baseball League,\u00a0Liga Mexicana de B\u00e9isbol<\/em>, founded in 1925. [See The 100th Anniversary of the Mexican Baseball League<\/a>]. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The year 2025 is also the 100th anniversary of the foundation of the Banco de M\u00e9xico<\/em>, the Mexican central bank, in 1925.

From Wikipedia: “The Banco de M\u00e9xico was created on August 25, 1925, under the direction of Minister of Finance Alberto J. Pani \u00a0with an official ceremony given on September 1, 1925. It was given exclusive authority to mint\u00a0coins and print banknotes, a sharp departure from policies of the past. The bank was also given responsibility over exchange rates, interest rates, and monetary regulation.”<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the English-language section of the Banco de Mexico website<\/a>: “Banco de M\u00e9xico was inaugurated during a solemn ceremony on September 1, 1925. The act was presided over by President Plutarco El\u00edas Calles and attended by renowned people from the fields of politics, finance and business.”<\/strong>
